In the case of tipper semi-trailers (S.KI) from a limited production period the bolted connection of the kingpin may not correspond to the prescribed torque. In extreme cases this can result in the tipper semi-trailer becoming separated from the tractor unit.
Fix: To avoid damage it is necessary that the kingpin bolts be inspected and if necessary retightened by an authorised Schmitz Cargobull service partner.

It has been identified during trials that in situations of extremely heavy use it may be possible for a crack to develop in the sem-i trailer bed plate just ahead of the king pin. If a crack does develop and is ignored then ultimately the risk exists that the king pin could be torn away.
Fix: The subject area of the bed plate will be modified as necessary.
