Before you book

The maximum fee for a class 4 car MOT is £54.85 and £29.65 for a motorcycle; many garages charge less. You can book up to a month (minus a day) before the current certificate runs out and keep the same renewal date. Take the registration; you don’t need the V5C.

Details are from the DVSA register published 30 Sep 2026 (source). Phone numbers and ownership change, so ring first.

MOT results around Nairn

Cars and light vans tested in the IV (Inverness) postcode area failed 26.4% of first MOT attempts in 2025, 3.8 points above the 22.6% national rate. That’s from 132,640 tests.

What failed most often here, as a share of all tests:

From DVSA’s anonymised MOT results for 2025, by the postcode area of the test station. The data has no garage identifier, so these are figures for the area, not for any one garage. An area with older cars fails more for that reason alone. Every area compared.
