  1. 4 SEPIES, 6 SERIES, M4 · front seat fixing mechanism may be insecure

    1 Sep 2017 · R/2017/244

Due to a fault in the supplier's production process the bolt on the outer side of the seat mechanism on both front seats might not have been fixed properly. In cases where the bolt loosens the customer would be alerted by noise coming from the seat and a noticeable increase in seat clearance/movement. If this is ignored by the customer the securing bolt on the outer side of the seat might come off. If the securing bolt comes off the seat can move backwards in a rear end crash situation.

Fix: The bolt on the seat mechanism will be checked for excessive clearance and if necessary replaced.

  2. 1 SERIES, 2 SERIES, 3 SERIES, 4 SEPIES, X3, X5, X6 · power steering may not perform correctly

    21 Dec 2016 · R/2016/300

The electrical contact of the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) of the Electric Power Steering (EPS) is not sufficiently robust over the service life of the vehicle. As a result the power steering support may fail possibly leading to disconcerting driving situation for the driver. Additionally in a few cases a localised thermal event cannot be excluded.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the steering gear (EPS).

  3. 2 SERIES, 3 SERIES, 4 SEPIES · possible loss of control

    4 Oct 2016 · R/2016/224

The bolts securing the rear axle support should not be re-used after removal. Affected vehicles may have had the rear axle support refitted after repair work using the original fitted bolts. These may work and though noise and vibration are likely continued use may affect the vehicle's handling.

Fix: On affected vehicles replace the rear axle support bolts.

    60 vehicles · built 1 Jan 2015 to 1 Sep 2016

  4. 1 SERIES, 2 SERIES, 3 SERIES, 4 SEPIES · engine may stall

    8 Jun 2015 · R/2015/109

The in tank fuel pump may contain sub components that have not been correctly nickel plated. This may cause excessive friction leading to the fuel pump being inoperative. The driver may experience a no start condition or in the worst case an engine stall. A warning lamp and error message will display. Steering and brakes will still function.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the in tank fuel pump with a modified version.

    1,646 vehicles · built 1 Sep 2013 to 30 Apr 2014

  5. 2 SERIES, 3 SERIES, 4 SEPIES, M3 · seat belt may malfunction

    6 Jan 2015 · R/2014/188

On affected vehicles the Driver's seatbelt retractor may be faulty. The seat belt may be hard to pull out or below zero degrees it may not be possible to pull the belt out. In these instances a driver may not be able to use the belt as intended.

Fix: On affected vehicles Check belt operation and replace belt if necessary
