  1. G650 · engine may cut out

    It has been identificed that there is a software errors in the Digital Motor Electronics-E engine control unit which can cause a faulty setting of the idle controller. This can result in the engine cutting out stopping or stalling when the engine is at idle speed and declutched. With any mechanical faults within the engine it can increase the potential for the engine to cut out stopping or stalling. This can therefore place the rider at risk under certain riding conditions or situations.

    Fix: Recall all affected machines to install new updated software.

    The engine may stall when the throttle position is at idle and the clutch lever pulled. This as a result of a software issue and in some case the air intake may not be �leak tight�.

    Fix: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to download new soft ware to the engine management Electronic Control Unit and ensure the air intake unit is �leak tight�.

  3. G650 · rear wheel bearing may fail

    16 Nov 2007 · RM/2008/003

    Some motorcycles left the factory with an incorrect circlip fitted to the left hand side of the wheel bearing guide. It is possible for the circlip to rub against the spacing bushing and the resultant metal particles may penetrate the wheel bearing and cause failure. The metal particles may also cause incorrect ABS sensor signals where the warning lamp will illuminated but the brake will still function.

    Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the rear wheel bearings seals circlip and spacing bushing.

    In isolated cases it is possible for the fuel lines to leak as a result of damage during their manufacture.

    Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the fuel lines.

  5. G650 · correct chain tensioners may not be fitted

    It has been identified that in production the left hand chain tensioner may have been fitted to the right hand side of the machine.

    Fix: Recalled machines will have the chain tensioners checked for correct installation and rectified if found to be incorrect or damaged.
