It is possible for the chain guide to become dislodged by the drive chain whilst the machine is in motion which could result in the rider loosing control.

Fix: Recalled machines will have the securing bolt removed the threads cleaned and have Loctite 243 applied to them. The bolt will then be re-fitted and tightened to a torque of 6 Nm.

It has been identified that under certain riding conditions vibrations transmitted from the chassis to the rear brake hydraulic lines can create a phenomenon whereby gas is released from the brake fluid which can then collect in pockets in the brake lines. Any pockets of gas within the hydraulic circuit of the rear brake will significantly reduce the effectiveness of the system and in extreme cases will render the rear brake inoperative.

Fix: Recalled machines will have the original rear brake lines removed and replaced with superseded items that are designed to follow a different routing from the master cylinder to the rear brake caliper via the ABS modulator.

It is possible for water to ingress into the ABS brake system override switch and warning light causing a failure of the switch and warning lamp. This will lead to the ABS system not working and the rider being unaware of the situation. The brakes will function but without the facility of ABS.

Fix: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to replace the original ABS system override switch with a modified item.
