STRATO · possible loss of steering control
15 Jan 2001 · R/2000/118
The lower steering column shaft may be too short and in a worst case separate from the steering box input shaft.

STRATO · possible loss of steering control
29 Jul 1996 · R/1996/054
The steering box extension may have been omitted during build. In consequence the steering shaft could pull off the steering box when the cab is tilted resulting in loss of steering.
Fix: Recall the affected vehicles and where required fit the extension to the steering box. At the same time new clamp bolts and nuts will be fitted to the steering shaft assemblies.
179 vehicles · built 1 Aug 1994 to 31 Mar 1996
STRATO · foul condition between starter solenoid and fuel injection pump
9 Apr 1996 · R/1996/005
It is possible that a terminal on the starter solenoid may foul on the fuel injection pump causing a short circuit and a potential risk of fire.
Fix: Recall the affected vehicles and reposition/rotate the starter solenoid on the engine mounting bracket to effect a non foul condition.
491 vehicles · built 1 Nov 1993 to 31 Jan 1995
STRATO · unscheduled brake application
10 Feb 1995 · R/1994/033
Some braking system air pipes are routed in close proximity to the exhaust system tail pipe. In consequence heat radiation from the exhaust can cause pipe failure and unscheduled application of the spring brakes.
Fix: Recall the affected vehicles and modify the air pipe securing arrangement to provide additional clearance between the pipes and the exhaust system.
70 vehicles · built 1 Dec 1993 to 28 Feb 1994
STRATO · steering column fixing bolt of incorrect specification
23 Sep 1994 · R/1994/011
The fixing nut and bolt which secures the steering column to the steering box is not to the correct specification.
Fix: All subject vehicles to have the fixing nut and bolt replaced with quality assured items.

STRATO · seizure of steering column coupling sliding spline
8 Dec 1993 · R/1993/041
The steering column sliding connection may seize on its lower splines. This can cause vertical loading on the clamping bolts and eventually lead to steering failure.
Fix: Recall the affected vehicles and replace the steering column lower sliding shaft with a sealed for life version. The clamp bolts will also be renewed.
2,814 vehicles · built 1 Jan 1988 to 31 Dec 1993
STRATO · chassis junction box wiring
3 Dec 1993 · R/1993/022
Some vehicles have been fitted with chassis junction box connector blocks which are not to the manufacturer's specification. This can result in overloading of the negative link wires and loss of the negative circuit.
Fix: Recall and examine all potentially affected vehicles to establish if they have been fitted with the incorrect connector blocks. Where identified these blocks will be replaced with quality assured versions.
854 vehicles · built 1 Jul 1990 to 31 Oct 1992
STRATO · disconnection of certain braking system pipe fittings
27 Nov 1993 · R/1993/023

STRATO · inadvertent movement of driving seat
12 Aug 1993 · R/1993/037

Fix: Recall the affected vehicles and modify the driving seat internal valve assembly to eliminate the possibility of the seat inadvertently rising.
88 vehicles · built 1 Oct 1992 to 31 Mar 1993
STRATO · possible loosening of steering box mounting bracket
5 May 1993 · R/1993/021
The spot weld on the steering gear mounting bracket may prevent the flanged nuts on the bolts securing the bracket to the chassis frame from seating correctly. This could result in the bracket working loose from the chassis frame with an adverse affect
