OFF-BOARD CHARGER · charger may be incorrectly wired
5 May 2017 · RCOMP/2017/004
When charging the battery externally from the vehicle there is a possibility that the earth provision for some sides of charger enclosure may not function. This is due to the anodising and bonding of the charger enclosure not being sufficiently conductive. For the unit to be affected the hot AC wire must detach and contact a part of the charger enclosure that does not have effective earth provision. If the above situation occurs the user could be subject to an electric shock.
Fix: A power supply cable with Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter will be supplied for all affected charger units.
