ACTROS, AROCS, ATEGO, EACTROS, ECONIC · title of recall srl250925 – change parameters in front radar sensor (rdf) control unit – rdf-hoe
3 Oct 2025 · R/2025/409
As part of our continuous quality monitoring we have identified that the vehicle-specific RDF3 (radar front end) installation height value has not been parameterized in Econic 956 Actros 963 Arocs 964 Atego 967 and eActros 983 model vehicles. Instead of the vehicle-specific installation height value a substitute value of 1 m has been entered. The substitute value is always higher than the actual installation situation. RDF3 is responsible for object recognition detecting clearance as well as close and long-range processing. It can also detect the ability to drive under and over objects which enables a radar-only reaction as part of the ABA functionality. Since the sensor value is parameterized higher than the actual installation height trucks ahead may not be detected particularly on inclines. This may lead to the fact that automatic braking by the ABA may not being triggered. Furthermore incorrect parameterization may lead to objects on the ground such as tracks manhole covers etc. being erroneously detected as obstacles causing ABA to brake the vehicle. This may increase the risk of accident.
Fix: As a permanent measure we wish to determine the installation height of the RDF3 manually and parameterize the determined value in potentially affected vehicles as part of this recall campaign.

ACTROS 963, AROCS, AROCS 964 · srl250303 – retrofit screws for stabilizer link bearing bracket on vehicle frame bef-achsl
4 Apr 2025 · R/2025/109
Actros 963 and Arocs 964 models depending on the model designation up to two screws per installed axle bearing bracket may be missing. The axle bearing bracket guides the rear axle in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. Spontaneous failure of the threaded connection can be ruled out. According to the Development department’s assessment loosening of the installed screws is possible at the earliest after approx. 600000 km.
Fix: As part of the recall action it must be checked whether all specified threaded connections are present on the axle bearing brackets on the potentially affected vehicles. If not the missing threaded connections must be retrofitted and tightened to the specified torque.
