JUNIOR MHEV · alternator protection
18 Mar 2026 · R/2026/113
On affected vehicles due to a production nonconformity there may be contact or a reduced clearance between the fuel Particulate Filter pipe and the pole protection cup of the 48V Belt Starter Generator. Under wet conditions there is a possibility that this insufficient clearance may lead to water infiltration creating an electrical arc which could trigger a thermal event such as overheating. In the worst-case scenario this could result in a risk of fire in the engine compartment.
Fix: Replace the pole protection cup of the 48V Belt Starter Generator. In addition check the distance between the fuel Particulate Filter pipe and the pole protection cup of the 48V Belt Starter Generator. If the distance is less than 10 mm re-position the pipe or replace the pipe if damaged.
