All Harley-Davidson FL recalls, newest first

  1. FL · failure of front indicators may not be signalled to the rider

    20 Dec 2014 · RM/2014/039

The failure of a front turn signal bulb may not be signalled to the rider. The concern is a result of incorrect programming of the Body Control Module.

Fix: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and re programme the Body Control Module.

    153 vehicles · built 1 Jan 2013 to 10 Mar 2014

  2. FL, FX · clutch may malfunction

    1 Nov 2014 · RM/2014/030

A tear may develop in the clutch master cylinder seal allowing a slow release of pressure in the system. If this should occur there may not be sufficient clutch lift to prevent the machine creeping forward.

Fix: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to replace the clutch master cylinder piston assembly.

    705 vehicles · built 25 Mar 2013 to 20 Aug 2014

  3. FL · fire may occur

    12 Mar 2010 · RM/2010/003

It has been identified that on subject machines the fuel tank front mountings may distort in reaction to severe frame damage occasioned in a frontal collision. This may result in fuel leakage from the weld of the front bracket to the tunnel. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire.

Fix: Recalled machines will have braces fitted to the vulnerable area in order to reduce fuel tank front mounting distortion during frontal impact scenarios.

    959 vehicles · built 6 Jun 2008 to 19 Nov 2009

  4. FL · mirrors improperly mounted

    28 Feb 2006 · RM/2006/016

The mirrors are incorrectly located on the inner fairing making it impossible to achieve correct mirror adjustment thus restricting rearward vision.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and reposition the mirrors.

    46 vehicles · built 1 Jun 2005 to 31 Aug 2005

  5. FL · unpredictable fuel supply to carburettor

    1 Feb 1997 · RM/97/001

The use of reformulated petrol in combination with a particular usage pattern of the vacuum operated fuel valve by the rider can affect the supply of petrol to the carburettor and lead to unscheduled shutdown of the engine.

Fix: The affected machines are being recalled for replacement of the original fuel valve diaphragm assembly with modified components.
