  1. ALICRON · loss of directional control

    26 Nov 2016 · R/2016/287

The material of certain front stub axle carriers may not be to specification and under extreme load conditions could crack. In the event of total failure a wheel could separate from the coach affecting directional control increasing the risk of collision.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to identify the stub axle carriers. Where the stub axle carrier bears a casting identification showing it is affected the stub axle will be replaced. Later (4/11 12/14) stub axle carriers could require material testing to identify if replacement is necessary.

  5. T9 · oil may leak

    5 Oct 2012 · R/2012/143

There is a possibility that the engine turbo may fail and leak oil into the engine induction/inlet system. With the Van Hool induction/inlet track if it is not airtight oil is able to leak into the engine compartment. This will cause a fire hazard.

Fix: Recall affected vehicles to check the induction/inlet system is airtight.

  6. ALIZEE · door/brake interlock ineffective

    18 Aug 2003 · R/2003/127

There is a significant delay before the entrance/exit door handbrake interlock system closes the door.

Fix: (a) Write to operators and dealers requesting them to check the handbrake interlock time delay. (b) In those cases where the delay is longer than 3 to 4 seconds a pressure switch will be fitted to the handbrake air pipe working on 2 bar pressure.
