In this condition it may not be possible to switch off the heater element and over a period of time this may cause a seat to overheat and smouldering to occur. Occupants will notice an inability to switch the seat heater off using the designated switch and over longer periods a higher than normal temperature of the seat squab.

Fix: Fit additional seat heater monitoring modules. Where necessary seat elements may also be replaced.

  59. DB9 · intermittent fault with transmission control switches

    16 Jul 2014 · R/2014/078

On affected vehicles the transmission switches have a chrome plating surround. This can interact with the printed circuit board within the switches and create an intermittent earth path to other surrounding parts In the subject vehicles this can cause the transmission to default to neutral without any driver input for gear selection resulting in a loss drive.

Fix: Replace existing switches with updated version. Brakes and steering are not affected.

  69. VANTAGE · engine may not start

    8 Feb 2006 · R/2006/021

The engine may not start because the power train to chassis primary earth stud may have intermittent high resistance. This condition may occur when electrical items that draw high current are utilised in which case the electrical path could route through the rear braided hoses causing them to heat up and possibly melt leading to a soft pedalillumination of the brake warning lamp and poor starting.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected so the primary earth stud can be moved to a new location and fit a secondary earth strap between the transmission and chassis.

  72. VANQUISH · possibility that throttle control may be lost

    19 Nov 2004 · R/2004/187

The electronic throttle pedal assembly cross shaft can become displaced from its housing following involuntary displacement of an ultrasonically domed head (LHS end). This is designed to keep the cross shaft in place along with a secondary retaining cross pin at the opposite side of the housing. With the cross shaft displaced throttle control is lost. If ignored a failed cross shaft would lead to loss of throttle control whilst driving.

Fix: Likely to be affected vehicles will be recalled at which time the throttle assembly will be checked for compliance with specification. Should a non-compliance be identified the throttle pedal assembly will be replaced.
