    16 Jan 2018 · RM/2018/001

Because of a manufacturing fault the floating piston in the front brake master cylinder may crack under high stress conditions typical of track use frequent ABS interventions or if a machine is dropped. This could reduce the efficiency of the front brake.

Fix: On affected machines replace the floating piston in the front brake master cylinder with a modified version.

    3,504 vehicles · built 1 Sep 2015 to 15 Jan 2018

  3. MULTISTRADA · suspension may fail

    2 May 2017 · RM/2017/014

If the machine is intensively used off road there is a potential for the shock-end eyelet on the rear shock absorber to fail.

Fix: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and replace the rear shock absorber with a redesigned unit.

    201 vehicles · built 1 Sep 2016 to 31 Jan 2017

  4. MULTISTRADA · fuel may leak

    27 Mar 2017 · RM/2017/010

A fuel leak could occur at the retaining nut for the fuel sensor on the fuel tank which in adverse circumstances can lead to a potential fire risk. The loss of fuel from the fuel tank could occur both whilst riding and when parked.

Fix: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and replace the fuel tank.

    228 vehicles · built 1 Sep 2016 to 31 Jan 2017

  5. MULTISTRADA · side stand may fail

    2 Nov 2015 · RM/2015/035

Due to non-conformity during the production process the side stand could fail in use allowing the machine to fall. This could be a danger to people that are close to the machine.

Fix: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and check the batch number of the side stand. If necessary the side stand will be replaced.

    412 vehicles · built 1 Jan 2010 to 31 Dec 2014

  6. MULTISTRADA · throttle may jam

    24 Apr 2015 · RM/2015/014

Factory quality testing has found the throttle housing has the potential of causing the throttle cable to jam and become inoperative. This can lead to the rider not being in full control.

Fix: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and replace the front half throttle housing and both throttle cables.

    2,605 vehicles · built 1 Jan 2010 to 31 Dec 2014

  7. DIAVEL, MULTISTRADA · steering lock may not engage

    13 Apr 2011 · RM/2011/006

Software version of the Hands Free control unit revision 43 under some special conditions of use (upon instrument panel switch on) could fail to disengage the electronic steering lock. It may then be possible to start the engine before realising the steering is still locked.

Fix: A new software version 44 has been designed to allow the reprogram of the hands free control unit.

Fix: New ECU software designed to solve the problem.
