  3. MONSTER, MULTISTRADA, PANIGALE, SCRAMBLER, XDIAVEL, XDIAVEL S · the floating piston in the front brake master cylinder may crack

    16 Jan 2018 · RM/2018/001

Because of a manufacturing fault the floating piston in the front brake master cylinder may crack under high stress conditions typical of track use frequent ABS interventions or if a machine is dropped. This could reduce the efficiency of the front brake.

Fix: On affected machines replace the floating piston in the front brake master cylinder with a modified version.

    3,504 vehicles · built 1 Sep 2015 to 15 Jan 2018

  4. PANIGALE, SUPERLEGGERA · rear shock absorber may fail causing loss of control of the machine

    18 Jun 2015 · RM/2015/021

The rear shock absorber piston rod nut may come loose. The shock absorber performance may be affected possibly causing a loss of machine control.

Fix: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and check if the machine is fitted with an affected shock absorber.Any affected shock absorbers will be removed and returned to Ohlins service centre for counter measure repair.

  6. PANIGALE · steering components may not be torqued to specification

    8 Aug 2012 · RM/2012/017

    a) Exhaust Butterfly cable support replacement - excess heat from the catalytic converter could cause the cable support to melt or burn. b) Ohlins Steering damper bearing - the uniball bearing could slip out of its seat. c) Steering damper retaining screws - two retaining damper screws may slacken from original torque setting. d) Swinging arm shafts RH and LH shafts need to be checked for correct tightness torque. e) Front Brake master cylinder fluid reservoir tube - the front brake master cylinder fluid reservoir connection tube may interfere with the reservoir retaining screw.

Fix: a) Exhaust Butterfly cable support will be replaced with a new part of higher heat rating. b) Steering damper bearing It is necessary to install the retaining washer to prevent this. c) It is necessary to tighten the steering damper screws with appropriate threadlocker applied ot the original torque setting. d) Check Swinging arm shafts RH and LH for correct tightness torque. e) It is necessary to replace the nut with a new washer and re-designed retaining nut.

  7. PANIGALE · possibility of loss of control

    26 Jun 2012 · RM/2012/011

An incorrect fixing screw retaining the swing arm to the rear suspension linkage has been fitted to some machines. It is possible that the incorrect fixing screw could fail resulting in the rear suspension collapsing and the rider losing control of the machine.

Fix: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to check whether the screw retaining the swing arm to the rear suspension is correct. Where the screw is found to be incorrect replace the screw.
