  1. ST1300 · possible rear brake failure

    11 Aug 2011 · RM/2011/017

It is possible that the rear brake reservoir hose could be chaffed by the speed sensor guide bolt on the rear swinging arm. This could result in abrasion damage and a subsequent fluid leak. Should this occur air could enter the system and the rear brake function could be lost.

Fix: Recall all affected machines for the replacement of the hose and reservoir.

    • ST1300: 706 vehicles · built 1 Jan 2008 to 31 Dec 2008
  2. ST1300 · engine may cut out

    11 Jul 2005 · RM/2004/031

The battery ground line connector within the wiring harness may overheat due to insufficient capacity of the connector. The result will be a bad connection and an open circuit which will affect the operation of the fuel pump and the bank angle sensor which may cause the engine to cut out.

Fix: Recall all the motorcycles that are likely to be affected and fit a new wiring harness.

    2,873 vehicles · built 1 Dec 2002 to 1 Dec 2004

  3. ST1300, ST1300A · potential leakage of engine oil

    4 Nov 2002 · RM/2002/010

Due to the shape of the oil pan there is a possibility that under certain road and riding conditions it may make contact with a road projection such as a Sleeping Policeman or kerb. Any such contact may cause damage. In the worst case engine oil may leak from the damaged area onto the rear tyre.

Fix: Fit a redesigned engine oil pan.
