Fix: Inspect each vehicle repair any damage and fit a sub frame where required.

Fractures have been found in the front frame bolster area near the support legs and around the rear cross member of the upper coupler.
Fix: Operators of likely to affected trailers will be contacted and instructed to inspect designated areas of the 20 foot position bolster for weld failure. Should a failure be identified the trailer should be taken out of service with immediate effect. The trailer should not be put back into service until modified by the manufacturer.

Suspension trailing arms may fracture forward of the axle beam. This may result in damage to the suspension or detachment of the axle.
Fix: Recalled trailers to be modified in 3 areas to reduce the stress levels and maintain tightness at the connection between the trailing arms and the axle beam viz 1)Replace axle bracket location plates with tee shaped key plates. 2) Replace square U-bolt

The aluminium couplers have been found to have cracks in the welds attaching the crossmembers to the side members. This could result in the trailer becoming uncoupled from the tractive unit
Fix: The complete upper coupler to be replaced by Fruehauf with a fully checked and modified replacement.

Maintenance inspections have revealed cracking around the periphery of the weld retaining the king pin to the upper coupler apron plate on specified trailers.
Fix: Depending on the condition of the coupling on inspection it will either be reworked by the addition of stiffer plates or by the replacement of the welded-in king pin by a bolt-in king pin.
