On affected vehicles if the Auxiliary charge (3 pin) cable is used with household extension leads and/or substandard domestic wall sockets for an extended period there is a possibility of the auxiliary charge cable 3 pin plug having a high electrical resistance causing excessive heat build-up. This in extreme cases may cause a failure of the 3-pin cable. If the vehicle is unlocked via the remote fob key during the AC charging process voltage is still present for a further 15 seconds within the charge socket. If the cable is unplugged from the car within this 15 second window there is a possibility of an electrical spark occurring.

Fix: The existing 13 amp 3-pin cable will be replaced with a 10 Amp cable to prevent excessive heat build-up and the vehicle charging protocol software will be updated to the latest version.

There is a problem with the internal algorithm of the E-Call controller.

Fix: Corrective software will be applied to bring affected vehicles back into conformity.

The vehicle's central locking and alarm immobiliser systems may malfunction. This is caused by an incorrectly secured wiring harness.

Fix: On affected vehicles unclip harness and inspect. If necessary repair or replace harness and re-secure using correct securing method.

The fuel filler assembly may fracture at the top of the neck. If the neck becomes detached this will result in the leakage of fuel vapour.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the fuel filler neck.

It is possible that the wiring harness that is routed under the radiator may not have been fitted correctly. This could result in chaffing or failure of the harness which will either cause electrical failure in systems and overheating.

Fix: Recall all affected vehicles to check harness secure and replace if necessary.
