  1. HAND BRAKE VALVE DPM94AAX · parking brake may release without warning

    It is possible that during the manufacturing test of the Hand Brake Valve that damage occurred to the handle locker. It is then feasible that the handle locker could come to rest in an unsecured position which could subsequently allow the handle to move to the released/drive position and result in a vehicle roll-away.

    Fix: Recall all effected unit and check for damage. If found to be damaged replace the hand brake valve with a new quality assured item.

  2. DENNIS EAGLE - ELITE 2 · parking brake may apply inadvertently

    It has been identified that there have been cases where the screws which secure the silencer assembly to the R6 relay valve body have become loose or have broken. Should this occur air may leak from the valve causing the parking brake to apply inadvertently.

    Fix: Recalled vehicles will have the subject screws replaced.

  3. SL4 STOP LIGHT SWITCH · stoplights may stay on following brake release.

    There have been instances where the stop lights on a number of the above models have been found to remain on following brake release. Investigation of the concern has attributed the situation to a lack of grease during production of the SL4 stop lamp switch

    Fix: To address the concern affected vehicles will be re-worked by operators under the terms of the Code of Practice by the fitting of quality assured switches (2 per vehicle).

  4. SPRING BRAKE ACTUATOR TYPE BS7303 · possible ingress of water / dirt into brake actuator.

    Some brake actuators may have been installed with the single breather / drain hole at the top. This may result in water and dirt entering the actuator causing corrosion and seizure of the operating mechanism.

    Fix: Recall affected trailers examine the brake actuators and replace those found to have the breather / drain holes in the topmost position.

  5. SHUNT VALVE AE42 · possible loss of air supply to trailer air reservoirs

    6 Mar 2000 · RCOMP/2000/1

    After manual application there is a possibility that the trailer manoeuvring shunt valve may not return to its run position when tractor/trailer suzies have been reconnected resulting in loss of air supply to trailer reservoirs.

    Fix: Replace affected valves with quality assured units
