  1. ECITARO · bevel gear installed with wrong ratio

    20 Aug 2026 · R/2026/022

The wrong bevel gear may be installed on the front axle steering. The required gear ratio for HD HDH SHD RHD and Intouro is 1.117:1. A Bevel gear with ratio of 1:1 was installed. For eCitaro models the reverse misinstallation may have occurred. If a 1:1 bevel gear is installed instead of 1.117:1 the wheel steering angles required in accordance with UN ECE-R 79 (section 6.2.5) in the event of a steering system failure can no longer be achieved. Since the calculated vehicle movement does not exactly match the actual vehicle movement in a event of fault unauthorized intervention by the ESP or in articulated buses the articulation angle control (ATC) is also conceivable. This could lead to a sudden reduction of drive torque and braking of individual wheels which may impair the ability to maintain the intended driving direction. A risk to other road users therefore cannot be ruled out.

Fix: Remedy is to check the bevel gear and replace them with a correct version if necessary

  2. SETRA S 531DT · impairment of display messages in the instrument cluster (icuc gen6) on b2e vehicles

    19 Aug 2026 · R/2026/293

On vehicles equipped with the B2E electrical/electronic architecture and the ICUC Gen6 instrument cluster certain status and fault messages are not consistently displayed to the driver in the ICUC. The root cause is an error in the adaptation of the filter logic for messages originating from control units and the Vehicle Message Matrix (VMM) during the transition from ICUC Gen5 to ICUC Gen6. Among others fault messages from the ACM (Aftertreatment Control Module) and the VRDU3 (Video Radar Decision Unit) control units are affected. As a result it cannot be ruled out that individual warning messages required for the safe and proper operation of the vehicle and/or mandated by legislation may not be displayed reliably.

Fix: Remedy is to correct the failure through a software update

  9. SETRA S531DT · emergency valve may malfunction

    24 Jun 2026 · R/2026/053

It has been determined that the external emergency valves may malfunction. The issue is caused by an excessively large bore diameter in a component of the door control valve. Because the diameter lies outside the specified tolerance (0.74 mm instead of the required 0.65 mm) compressed air flows back faster than the system can vent. Consequently the pneumatic self‑holding mechanism does not release and the door can only be opened if the internal emergency valve is actuated first. If the external emergency valve is actuated first the defect may prevent the door from opening. In an emergency this could hinder the evacuation of passengers by rescue services.

Fix: Remedy is to replace the door control valves on all doors on affected vehicles.
