The root cause is not yet known and investigations are continuing. Some vehicles have experienced thermal overload in the high voltage traction battery pack which may present as smoke or fire. Since the installation of protective software field evidence has shown that there remains a risk of thermal overload in vehicles with battery packs manufactured up to the end of 2021 model year.

Fix: As an interim repair the vehicles will have software installed to restrict the maximum state of charge to 90% whilst a permanent remedy is developed.

On affected vehicles due to a software issue in the Electric Power Inverter Converter B (EPICB) it is possible that as the high voltage battery depletes during driving in EV mode the engine may not restart when the state of charge reduces and the vehicle will therefore lose power. There will not be an associated warning to the driver.

Fix: Vehicle’s software to be updated in the Electric Power Inverter Converter B (EPICB) and other modules as required to ensure complete cross-module integration. In parallel an over-the-air update will be rolled out and customers who successfully complete this update will not need to visit a retailer.

For certain 2023 & 2024 Model Year 3.0L AJ20-P6 Jaguar F-Pace vehicles a small number of engines the cam carrier oil gallery hasn�t been fully drilled. As a result the oil channel could be blocked leading to accumulation of oil against the pressure control valve rubber membrane and subsequently an external oil leak or increased oil carryover into the air intake system.

Fix: The engine cam carrier will be inspected and where an incorrectly machined cam carrier is found replace it with a correctly machined component. Depending on mileage and engine conditions further associated components may require replacement.

Brake fluid loss will illuminate a red warning triangle on the instrument cluster and if sufficient brake fluid leaks out this will ultimately result in extended brake pedal travel combined with reduced braking performance and vehicle stopping distances will increase. Loss of one braking circuit could compromise vehicle stability and increase the risk of an accident.

The electrical harness from the Restraints Control Module (RCM) to side crash sensors has been incorrectly orientated. The RCM signal wire for the right hand C Pillar impact sensor is wired to the left hand C Pillar impact sensor and vice versa. It has been identified that the fuel delivery line/pipe may not have been installed to the correct specification. This could result in the incorrect tolerance between the fuel line/pipe and the vehicle under shield and the body. This can result in a chaffing condition and fuel leak. This will be highlighted to the driver by either a smell of fuel or pooling of fuel under the vehicle.

Fix: Recall the affected vehicles to inspect the clearance between the under shield and the body and carry out remedial work as required which may only be the fitment of additional retaining clips or the replacement of any damaged fuel line/pipe.
