The turbo charger oil pressure line may fail. This will allow oil to fall onto the road surface causing concerns to other road users. In the worst case scenario the oil could ignite and cause a fire.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the oil pressure line and connecting flanges for the turbo charger and where necessary replace the exhaust pipe mounting bracket for a modified version.

Under certain operating conditions it is possible that the wheel bearing or a tyre on the leading or trailing tag axles can fail as a result of a brake overheat. If the driver ignores warning signs it is possible the wheel and hub could detach or the tyre could blow out.

Fix: As an interim action recall all affected vehicles to check the tolerance on the brake calipers fitted to these axles. Where necessary the dealer will replace specific brake components and fit wheel nut indicators to act as heat/melting indicators. Full action recall all affected vehicle to have new brake calipers fitted.

Processing bores of the manually operated brake valves have been closed using balls. In individual cases it may occur that the balls are not secured properly in the housing and may come loose. For this reason the valves may bleed air and activate the parking brake or anti-jack knife brake.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check if an affected valve is fitted. For affected valves check the crimping is correct and fit caps to the valves where the crimping is not correct. Affected existing spare parts stock is to be returned. The vehicles supplied with new valves must also be checked and fitted with caps as necessary.

The front live axle brake anchor plates may not be secure which if not attended to could ultimately lead to the directional control being affected.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to tighten the anchor plate bolts and where necessary replace the stub axle and brake anchor plate.

It is possible that during battery maintenance the main battery cables can foul in the battery box closing system. Repeated operation of opening and closing of the battery box can in extreme cases cause a short circuit and subsequence loss of power.

The parking brake may apply with no input from the driver because of an incorrectly manufactured cable harness that controls the safety interlock circuit to the tank equipment shutter door.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check that the control switch for the parking brake is functioning correctly and if it is not the cable harness for the body and control switch for the parking brake must be replaced.

It has been identified that a number of the subject vehicles have been fitted with faulty Voss air distributor check valves which do not afford the prime mover parking brake system reliable protection in the event of the trailer air supply lines becoming holed or torn away. Should a trailer air supply line disconnect or holing situation occur there is the potential for the prime mover rear axle parking brakes to actuate causing the vehicle to slow down or in some cases suffer rear wheel lock with no driver input.

Fix: Recalled vehicles will have the subject valve replaced with a quality assured item.
